Tributes have been paid to a gran who was found dead at her home after crashing her e-scooter in Aberdeen.

Tracie Alexander, 46, was discovered at her property on Mastrick Close at around 2.20pm on Monday, November 27. Following a post-mortem examination, detectives say her death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Seven days prior, the gran had been involved in a one-vehicle collision while riding her black e-scooter. The incident occurred at around 5.20pm on the city's Whitemyres Avenue.

Officers from Police Scotland say it currently remains unclear whether the collision and any injuries Tracie sustained contributed to her death. They are, however, appealing to any members of the public who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Meanwhile, Tracie has been remembered as a "loving" gran and mum by one of her neighbours.

A nearby resident, who wished not to be named, told the Record: "I knew her in the passing to speak to and she was lovely. We would often speak together and she was really friendly, I can't say anything bad about her.

"She was a loving mum and gran - she loved her child and grandchild."

Police say they are looking to hear from those with dash-cam footage of the collision.

Sergeant Peter Henderson from Road Policing said: “While it is unclear at this stage whether the collision and any injuries the woman sustained contributed to her death, it is important that we establish the full circumstances of what happened.

"I am appealing for anyone who was in Whitemyres Avenue around 5.20pm on Monday, 20 November, and may have seen a woman riding a black e-scooter to please come forward.

“In particular I would urge any motorists with dash-cams who were on the road to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to our enquiries."
