Sophie Monk shows off hilarious soccer skills to support Matildas ahead of World Cup semi-final

We think Sophie Monk should keep her day job.

The Love Island Australia host was in a celebratory and sporty mood when she took a soccer ball to a local park for a kick this week.

It comes amid the Women’s World Cup which saw the Matildas beat France to score a spot in the Semi-Final against England on Wednesday night.

“Anyone else thinking they’re a soccer expert right now? So proud of you @matildas,” she captioned a hilarious Instagram video filmed by her husband, Joshua Gross.

In the clip, Monk, 43, wore a skimpy yellow bikini top with denim shorts, not worrying about any potential wardrobe malfunctions as she demonstrated a headbutt that instead hit her in the face.

“I’m available if you need an understudy at the Paris olympics. you’re legends ladies ♥️,” she joked.

Many other stars have thrown their support behind the Matildas as they continue their quest for World Cup glory.

Rebel Wilson made her way down to Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour to attend the FIFA Fan Festival and watch the match – which took place in Brisbane – on a large screen.

“What an INCREDIBLE WIN!!! Absolutely STUNNING ladies!! @matildas @fifawomensworldcup,” Wilson wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself cheering with a friend while wearing a team scarf.

Meanwhile, Aussie pop-star-turned-swimmer Cody Simpson was in Brisbane to watch the match in person with friends.

He documented his reactions to the nailbiting match, including the moment Cortnee Vine scored the vital penalty shot that secured Australia’s place in the semi-finals.

“My mind is blown!! Craziest game ever,” he wrote.

Back in Sydney, radio host Jackie “O” Henderson made her way down to the Clovelly Hotel to watch the game – and she wore a yellow dress in support.

As the Matildas inched closer to victory, Henderson’s cheers got louder in a series of videos shared on Instagram Stories.
