Quantico. Yes or NO? - CelebMix
11 episodes into the first season of ‘Quantico’, the series has become one of the most hyped tv shows of the year. But before I begin to list all the reasons why this tv show is so highly commendable, let me explain the plot.
Quantico follows the lives of young FBI recruits who have come to the Quantico base in Virginia for 21 weeks of special training. These recruits are considered the smartest and the most suitable for the extensive process at Quantico. However this is not the only reason they have come to Quantico. Each recruit has a secret and private reasons for joining. One recruit is suppressing the biggest secret of all and ends up being suspected of organising the most destructive attack on the US in history. This recruit, Alex Parish, played by indian actress, Priyanka Chopra, sets out to prove her innocence since, shock-horror, she’s framed! . The show is presented as a composition of flashbacks and flash forwards, making an exhilarating.
The series’ pilot episode, released in September this year, caught the attention of many, introducing vast numbers of characters and their background while continuing with the main story, very effectively and at an extremely comfortable pace. The pilot was promising and had most people gripped with its style and wit almost immediately.
Getting further into the story, the director, Joshua Safran, adds twists and many thought provoking conspiracies, engaging the viewers in spectacular ways similar to the twists in the tv show, Scandal. You’ll be glued to the screen for the whole duration of the episode!
Although the show has many ludicrous moments, Joshua Safran, the creator of the one and only, Gossip Girl, directs it to present it in an extremely fathomable manner. The series is said to be much like a Shonda Rhimes series for example Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy, which makes absolute sense since Safran is clearly versed in the Shondaland habits.
The acting is definitely a factor for praise. All emotions and intentions are conveyed well and admirably by the actors such as Josh Hopkins, Priyanka Chopra, Yasmine Al Massari, Johanna Braddy and Tate Ellington. In terms of casting, Quantico definitely deserved a round of applause. However the characters,no matter how perfectly portrayed, are slightly predictable in this particular style of tv show. The pretty boy who wants to live up to his parents expectations, the girl who wants to avenge her parents’ death, the marine and the deeply disturbed but determined one- all predictable for an FBI thriller like Quantico.
None the less, it’s a given that you should definitely give Quantico a go if you know that you like a mystery that’ll keep you entertained week to week. And if you are a fan of the likes of How to Get Away with Murder, Scandal and Homeland, Quantico will be right up your alley.
