Read on to see 5 ways Noelia stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.
One of Noelia's go-to workouts is boxing. "Every damn day 💪🏼 move !" she captioned a recent post. Harvard Health maintains that boxing a great way to build strength, improve balance, posture, hand-eye coordination, boost mood and endurance, and helps increase alertness.
"Back at it," Noelia captioned a recent post. "Strength and conditioning Mind + Body = Spirit speaks softening to feel all at once . Never stop moving!" Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
Noelia does a lot of yoga. "Mobility for the soul!" she captioned a recent post of herself during a yoga routine. There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," they said. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."
Hiking is another form of outdoor fitness Noelia loves. "Loved the time spent and the connection with amazing souls and most importantly nature at its best," she said during a recent trip to South Africa, where she hiked with her family. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.
Noelia gets her zen on. "When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress," says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:
- Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
- Building skills to manage your stress
- Increasing self-awareness
- Focusing on the present
- Reducing negative emotions
- Increasing imagination and creativity
- Increasing patience and tolerance
- Lowering resting heart rate
