If there is a good salary earned by the husband, why should the wife work?” The duo has been blessed with 2 children – a son named Kalidas Jayaram (b. He started serving as a medical representative after college.

He co-starred as Adv. Mohanachandran Pothuval (Appu) in the Malayalam-language romantic drama film Thooval Kottaram in 1996. For this role, Jayaram Subramaniam won the Special Jury Award at the 1996 Kerala State Film Awards and the Filmfare Award for “Best Actor”.

For his contributions to the Indian film industry, Jayaram Subramaniam was honored with the Padma Shri (the fourth-highest civilian award of the Republic of India) by the Government of India in 2011.

Along with Anushka Shetty, Unni Mukundan, Asha Sarath, and Murali Sharma, Subramaniam co-starred as Home Minister Eshwar Prasad (the main antagonist) in the thriller film Bhaagamathie in 2018. This performance got him nominated in the “Best Actor in a Negative Role – Telugu” category at the 8th South Indian International Movie Awards.
