David Beckham signed Adidas deal worth 50,000 - and he used it all on buying BMW M3
David Beckham decided to splash out on a luxury BMW M3 after signing a £50,000 deal with adidas during his playing days.
The former Manchester United and England star gave fans an insight into his life as a player in the recently released Netflix series - 'Beckham'.
Beckham spent 12 years at boyhood club United before joining Real Madrid.
During one episode of the documentary, the 48-year-old revealed the time he splashed out on the lavish motor.
After coming through the United youth academy in 1999, an early sponsorship venture was a partnership with the renowned German sportswear giant, adidas.
The collaboration ensured he had financial backing, although the funds he gained, did not last for long.

“That season [1996/97] was the start for me of working with the brands, that was the first time I stepped outside of football. Not many footballers were doing that at that point. But yeah I got paid," he said in the four-part series.
“I spent my money, I like nice stuff. As soon as we got money I was like, 'I want to buy a nice watch'.
"I signed a contract with adidas for £50,000 and I went and bought an [BMW] M3 - for £50,000!”
Former Red Devils teammate Roy Keane spoke about the time Beckham rocked up to training his new car.

"He was the first to do it," the Irishman said.
"He certainly upped everyone’s game in the car park, I’ll give him that."
On Beckham's spending habits: Gary Neville said: “He’d get his salary on a Friday, spend it all on Saturday, and wait for a week until his next pay cheque to buy the matching jacket to a pair of jeans he’d already bought."
