Coogee stabbing: Police release CCTV of man they wish to speak to
Police have released CCTV of a man they wish to speak to after a shocking stabbing in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Detectives are appealing for public assistance after a man was stabbed at a unit on Mount Street in Coogee on January 8.
Officers were told a man had entered the home and demanded money from the male occupant before stabbing him several times and fleeing the scene.
No money was stolen.
“Investigators believe the man used a ride-share service to attend and leave Mount Street and are treating the incident as targeted,” police said.
Paramedics treated the 33-year-old occupant before he was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious condition.
He required multiple emergency surgeries for wounds to his stomach, back and arms.
Strike Force Rodsi is investigating the incident and have released CCTV of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He is described as of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his early 20s, between 170cm and 180cm tall, of medium build, with short black hair that is shaved on the sides.
He was wearing a dark coloured T-shirt with a white print on the back, dark coloured shorts and black and white sneakers.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
